CGA 2024 Paris Olympic Send-Off

The Central Gauteng Athletics held a send off celebration for their athletes going to the #Paris24 Olympics. In total 6 athletes from CGA will be participating in the upcoming games, on the backdrop of excellent performances in Hungary last night.

Akani Simbine who will be the Team South Africa flag bearer is joined by another Olympian shot putter Kyle Blignaut, former junior Olympians Cheswill Johnson and Lythe Pillay, Ryan Mphahlele, with marathoner Cian Oldknow being the only lady amongst the gents.

The ceremony was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton, Johannesburg. All the speakers from all walks of the sports fraternity and community at large congratulated the team and gave their well wishes. The Olympics is a big deal.

CGA Acting President, Ms Karabo Tumi Mabilo acknowledged the great work that has been put in by the athletes in their journey to qualify for the #2024ParisOlympics.

She further highlighted the Province is very proud of the athletes and wishes them the best of luck in their competitions in Paris.
